In March of 1969, a serene 175-acre farm in Wooster became known as the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio (CCHO) when members of the independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ movement learned of a boy with no safe place to call home. Initially licensed as a foster/group home serving three to five children at one time, CCHO now has five cottages on its campus that are home to as many as 38 at-risk kids at once, confused and broken children who just need to know that they are loved, they are valued and they are safe.

As CCHO employees, we believe the core message behind “Father’s Day Miracle” is vitally important. Dads matter, whether they are purposeful with their parenting and engaged in the lives of their kids, or they’re distant and uninvolved. At CCHO, we see firsthand the damage done when fathers are not involved in their children’s lives. We not only want to help these at-risk kids who are often abused and neglected find hope and healing on our residential campus in Wooster or through our foster care and adoption services, but we also want to introduce them to their Heavenly Father so they can find their true worth in a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.

For nearly 50 years, CCHO, Encompass Christian Counseling, and Encourage Foster Care & Adoption have helped children, adults and families cope with and recover from life’s most difficult challenges. All proceeds raised by the sale of “Father’s Day Miracle” will benefit Christian Children’s Home of Ohio and our ministries’ mission to help people experience their worth in Christ.
